Alun is an Honours graduate of Swansea University and holds an MBA from the Smurfit Graduate School of Business in Dublin – one of the leading Business Schools in Europe.

Alun’s early career was in the Higher Education sector, having worked for a number of UK universities in roles of increasing seniority over a period of 10 years. Following his MBA, he was invited to undertake strategic consulting assignments for various institutions before being attracted to join one of the UK’s leading executive search and selection companies to develop its Higher Education offering. During 5 years as a Director and HE sector executive search specialist, he developed a recognised profile and brand for leading on Chair, Dean, Senior Academic, Director and SMT level leadership appointments across the HE sector in the UK and globally, in doing so conducting international and discipline specific searches for the most suitable and credible global talent.

Having successfully built a HE executive search practice with global reach, Alun has brought his experience and sector commitment to Australia. Building on his understanding of the issues and challenges that impact on institutions and candidates in the education sector, plus his existing Australian and international network, Alun’s clients span the education sector (public and private), government, not-for-profit as well as Higher Education. He has also delivered sessions for HE leadership programmes as well as contributing regularly at education conferences.
